Students attending South Bunbury ESC have a diagnosis of an intellectual disability or autism with high needs. Our Motto is Learn, Grow, Belong.
An Individual Education Plan is written for all students based on individual student strength, need and ability. ABLES and the WA Curriculum informs planning for Numeracy, Literacy, Health, Humanities, Science, Physical Activity and the Arts. Students at SBESC are explicitly taught specific Positive Behaviours to improve their Social and Personal Capability.
Input and ideas from relevant stakeholders, such as parents/caregivers, Speech Therapists, Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists are considered when writing a student’s Individual Education Plan.
Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) and Top Ten Maths are programs used across the school to increase functional Literacy and Numeracy.
